Sunday 9 February 2014 - Ko Mak

Morning world from another sunny day on Ko Mak.  Just had breakfast and chilling by the pool writing to you.

Oh the toes are in too ha ha!  Been speaking to Francesca this morning and Betsy Mae and me are off to one of the beaches today.  There are so many to choose from.  Some have sand flies on that will bite you, but Mother Nature has taken care if that.  If you apply coconut oil it keeps them away.  There are coconuts, bananas and pineapples growing everywhere here.  I will get you some pictures.  The oil is lovely I might bring another bottle back anyway as many of you know, I do have such dry skin.

So it's off to the Temple first then beach one.  I will pack my bag for the day and stay out, eat out then come back and chill.  The guys who own this beautiful resort are so lovely, it's like you are staying in their home as a guest.  Thailand is such a friendly place.  Please, all of you promise me, if you do come here, and I hope you all do, don't just book yourself into a swanky 5 star, air conditioned hotel.  You will see nothing.  Find a good, small hotel and explore.  Trust me when I say I have felt more fear walking around Hanley at night than I did walking in Bangkok!

So before I start my day and you are sleeping, I can hear you all lol, I want to share a song with you.  It was written by, and performed by, Sting.  For me, it sums it all up.  Just change a few words from he to she and I guess it's why I am here, how I got to be in Thailand.  Oh it's called: Let Your Soul Be Your Pilot - enjoy and You Tube the video I will try to add a link, it's a very beautiful song.  Sting gets it.

"Let Your Soul Be Your Pilot"

Let your soul be your pilot
Let your soul guide you
He'll guide you well

When you're down and they're counting
When your secrets all found out
When your troubles take to mounting
When the map you have leads you to doubt
When there's no information
And the compass turns to nowhere that you know well

Let your soul be your pilot
Let your soul guide you
He'll guide you well

When the doctors failed to heal you
When no medicine chest can make you well
When no counsel leads to comfort
When there are no more lies they can tell
No more useless information
And the compass spins
The compass spins between heaven and hell

Let your soul be your pilot
Let your soul guide you
He'll guide you well

And your eyes turn towards the window pane
To the lights upon the hill
The distance seems so strange to you now
And the dark room seems so still

Let your pain be my sorrow
Let your tears be my tears too
Let your courage be my model
That the north you find will be true
When there's no information
And the compass turns to nowhere that you know well

Let your soul be your pilot
Let your soul guide you
Let your soul guide you
Let your soul guide you upon your way...
