Wednesday morning I was up early, again, and off to Ayuthaya for a trip to see ancient temples. Ayuthaya is about two hours drive north of Bangkok. Today on the coach were an older Canadian coulple, a couple he was from Israel she was from Berlin, an Argentinian woman living in Australia and Katy Perry from LA! Don't you just love Americans?
The visited four temples/ruins in the morning and today it was very very hot. Some of you may not like the next bit but remember, I am in Thailand - that is how it is. Dogs and cats are everywhere and I mean everywhere. They are mainly the scraggiest things ever. Today the bus driver run over two, the dogs were in the road! They were ok, no one died and there was no blood just a lot of yelping.mus, the United Nations screamed at the driver, the temples paled into insignificance. The dogs were ok, but that is how it is here. The dogs lie in the road, I bet there are not many vets here lol. The Israeli summed it up a treat lol. He said he driver thinks he is playing Super Mario and gets 100 points per dog, 200 points for a puppy! Remember lol we are all socially constructed wether we think we are of not, this is how it is in Thailand. The Argentinan/Australia girl come and sat next to me, to avoid Katy Perry and we shared wombat photos lol. The world you know, is really so small. At lunch I sat with arg/oz girl and Katy and what did we talk about? Three women from across the world and we are moaning about how crap blokes are! What can I say guys lol? But I did learn some excellent put down liness some were brutal lol lol I can't wait to use them lol.
Back on bus and on walk to temple iam joined. Yo older canadian guy who had obviously been ear wigging our girlie conversation at lunch lol. Again, the Thais were selling all types of live things such as huge turtles to buy and feed to the fish for luck. I explained to the others the concept of this as they had no idea. It's amazing how much you can learn if you open your eyes and ask lol.
At this temples I managed to make an offering without being interrupted by Katy lol. Then I was out on another bus as I was off to the summer palace. Tbh I had enough by then lol it was so hot. At the palace I has to cover my arms so I had to wear a shawl!!!!! As if I were not hot enough. The palace was beautiful but the iced coffee and Hagen Dazs was better lol hey it's the first ice cream this holiday.
Back to Bangkok - two hours. I updated my blog at the coffee shop opposite who know me now too,then quick showere and off to Jenny's for dinner.
Again,the guy saw me enter the street and got me a chair and I shared a table with two women, one from Austria the other from Germany. We had such a lovely evening,must chatting away, it was such good company. I never feel lonely when travelling. There is always something to see or someone to chat too. The food was excellent. I had something different but can't remember the name but it was so good. The girls told me about the massage place opposite and how good it was .............. You know what is coming next don't you - when in Rome or Bangkok lol.
The massage place looked like the sort of place you avoid in the UK lol. The Thai girls were lovely they are so tiny but there is nothing gentle about it, trust me. I had the most amazing foot, leg, shoulders, head, arms and hand massage. Again the left calf was a source of interest to her and if pain to me, but I have to say it did feel easier. My left knee has ached the last couple if days. Nothing to worry about. She could tell. She worked and worked on it and it hurt like hell but do you know I walked home like a ten year old! Seriously snd this morning no pain. Chris has now told me I need a massage every day and it will get easier. Trust me guys, it's not gentle lol but I get where he is coming from as this morning my legs, knee and feet feel ready to go!
So here I am it's now 8:00 I have been up since 6:00 the cats and kittens were fighting, again at 3:00 lol but I feel good and ready to go. You guys are sleeping soundly I hope. So today, this morning it is vegetarian Thai cooking. I'm really looking forward to this. Not sure what I'm doing this pm yet. Washing has been done, I will get some more done today before I leave tomorrow. But that's tomorrow - I need to enjoy today x
