Saturday 8 February 2014 - Ko Mak

 Feeling much better now because I have Betsy Mae!  Who is she I hear you cry ......... She is my moped how cool is that lol.

The only way around the island is walk, push bike or the odd taxi in the evenings.  Some of the hoteks - the really posh ones - have golf carts, I however have Betsy Mae.  I have never drove a moped I my life.  The hotel is owned by two lovely Italians - Francesca and Maxissimmo now aren't they great names,  why  is it when the Italians speak it sounds so lovely, like they are singing.  Maxissimmo takes me to the bike and says hey its easy mmmmmmm!  Anyone who knows me that If it's easy I find a difficult way to do it.  He shows me what to do and Francesca comes running over with a helmet lol.  So, I managed to start it up - yay! Then drove into the field lol as I forgot I had to steer it as well.  They looked mortified I couldn't stop laughing lol. So I go again and they are waving and shouting at me and I'm say thank you,  bye, see you later then I see them running after me.  I had gone he wrong way.  So much to remember lol.  So, off we go again, I bet they were thinking that's the last we have seen of her lol.

The road to the hotel is a dirt track not a road!  It was so funny lol I could t stop laughing I keep thinking if you all could see me now.  Best you didn't know Auntie Pat.  I soon got the hang of it so I thought so first stop the Buddhist Temple to say thanks for getting me there.  It was so basic compared to the grand and circumstance of the ones in Bangkok, but I liked it, it has a calm about it.  The Abbot was out and he acknowledged me, I liked that.  I said what needed to be said and done and again, you guys know who you are.  So here are some pictures of the Temple at Ko Mak,

I found it very peaceful there, I could do some thinking and reflecting.  Then off we go.  I found the school and are going to visit it on Monday.  I stopped to get Betsy Mae some petrol.  Now that was an experience.  There are about four places you can buy petrol, they are all very much the same.  No nectar points, no fluffy dice, emmmm no petrol tank lol.  The woman was lovely and was happy for me to take her photo lol.

I guess I am a bit like the Thai version of Call the Midwife lol meets Steve McQueen at the end of the Great Escape lol.  I nearly took out another tourist lol, she looked terrified as I was just heading towards her lol, it was so funny.  There is one bend I have trouble with, but hey I will conquer it.  So I'm off again, buzzing all around this beautiful island.  I saw so many things this morning you would never seen just stuck in your hotel.  So here are a few photos - enjoy!

So it's 300 points for a goat, 400 points for a pig, 10000 points for a human lol.  No it's fine.

I went back to the hotel at swam.  I love swimming it clears my head (got rid of that hair rigid nightmare) and I just enjoy it. Then just chilled around the pool listening to music.

I asked Francesca if there is ny music on a Saturday night and she has food me one place.  So me and Betsy Mae, in the pitched dark have come into town.  FYI town consists of a handful of bars and restaurants.  You will be pleased to know psychic radio has followed me, lol.  Just had All By Myself lol as in Bridget jones and now a bloody Robbie Williams song that is very dear to me, even more so now,the words are very apt.  Saying that, he is being drowned out by a group of Americans lol.  I am also getting the eye (which I am totally ignoring as I'm typing this) from a bloke on his own.  I have to be careful what I say now as it appears I have upset someone who now thinks I hate all men!  So let's clear this up once and for all lol.  I know a few of you 'gentlemen' reading this are so hands on parents - Lee in particular. Who adores his gorgeous son Jack, and who every weekend has such fun together - see exception to every rule.  I think the point that I was trying to make that has been misinterpreted is - many of you know of the very limited success I have had with men since I was made surplus to requirements almost three years ago.  I think now,because of the way I feel, the beliefs I have, the places I want to go too (not to shop) the lifestyle I lead - I think finding someone who I connect with is going to be impossible to find, I thought I had but hey ho.  I don't go out in Stoke, I go to work, yoga, fat club lol, meditation - that's it.  What I need is not in Stoke so I will plod along and take each day as it comes.  I mean let's face it lol who would put up with me! Lol. But I round rather be on my own than just with someone because I don't want to be on my own.  I like my own company and freedoms it gives me to chose what I want to do, where I want to go etc. So, my apologises if I offended anyone.  NOT ALL GUYS ARE FW! Lol. But the ones who aren't and 'get it' please call ;)

Ok just had dinner.  It was fine, but I don't think it was made with love lol.  Time to find a bar with music.  I need to dance but I can't see that happening.

Ha ha so up and down, up and down the main road like Madge in her scooter in Benidorm lol.  If anyone were watching lol well at least I entertained them.  So now in a lovely bar with a guy pretending to be Johnny Cash.  I'm sitting on the floor at a table, no shoes on.  Again shoes off everywhere the mini market shoes off, restaurant shoes off I love it.  When you Akkad come to eat Thai food at cosy cottage I will expect shoes off lol.  I might even make you eat sitting on the floor - how call would that be.

I forgot to say I facetimed a couple of friends today, just to check in.  FaceTime is so good.  Nikki you looked frozen and I feel for baby Kieran I do honestly, Ann you looked started to see me, I loved it and Emma and Harry well you too looked both so happy - especially you Harry who has stollen my heart.  The world really is small - so go be a giant.  I remember someone telling me once, and again you will know who you are lol, that they had visited I think it was 49 countries!  I counted mine including Wales, Scotland and Jersey and only got to I think it was 22, so I have some serious catching it to do.  This trip has taught me that anything is possible, just go and do it.  Live for the day, laugh, be kind and be kind to yourself.  I want to be the one still flirting in that nursing home lol.  Life, as some of us have learnt recently, really is far, far too short.

So waiting for my piña colada to arrive. Don't start hitting the panic button girls (there will be no boys now as all sulking and thinking I hate them all lol), there's no alcohol in it.  It's arrived mmmmm not sure but I will drink it.  There are a group of Australian blokes on the next table they do make me smile!  They have a wicked sense of humour, they say it how it is.  I like that.  I'm watching Thailand's Match of the Day ha ha.  Gary Linekar looks different lol.  Well there's not much action in Ko Mak it makes my little village look like Pattyaya lol.  That aside I would rather sit here than in the restsurant at the hotel.  Even though I'm on my own don't feel alone tonight, it's all good!  I think I will have this mmmmm drink then head back to hotel.  All rock and roll in Ko Mak lol.

Well back to hotel safe and sound.  Very, very dark lol but I'm still smiling.  Love to you all x
